We need a good starting safety in this year's draft. Unlike last year, we filled one void with Chris Harris, so a first or second round starter will fill the lone void this season.

Our other need is WR, but I think we look to FA for this. We have proven to be unproven in regards to picking up talent in the draft with the sole exception to Smitty who looked to be a role player at first anyway. Wes Welker and once our own Ricky Proehl has proven second tier talent in the NFL is much more of a known commodity than rookie WRs comming into the League. Two words... Detroit Lions! We need to find this year's Wes Welker and make that THE priority in FA.

Back to the draft, whether or not we are able to keep both Gross and Wharton is an important and, more than likely, tall order to undertake. With that in mind, we need an OT pretty badly. A top two pick for sure coupled with the safety. Beyond that I wouldn't mind seeing more depth at DE, DT and OG. Build in the trenches because that is where we have lost our physical nature. Our team needs to get back to that.

Overall, I think we have few weaknesses and attribute the bulk of our lack of success last year to injuries. If we shore up that safety spot and get a dynamic WR opposite Smitty, oh--while staying healthy, we can pick right back up where we left off in terms of success.

This area needs to improve
Saftey is a need ,but plug in a F/A with a strong Pass Rush and Panthers will be fine
