Who's all going to camp on the 26th?

It's hard to believe, but camp is a little over three weeks away. I am going to try to request off of work for that day. So, who else is going? Cal?

BTW, since we do not have the NFLE players to pad the camp roster, coach Fox has said they will absolutely wrap up camp early in Spartanburg. If memory serves me correctly, camp did not wrap up until the middle of the week after the SECOND preseason game. Now, it looks as if camp could end as early as the day prior to the FIRST preseason game. A few days after that game are scheduled but, TBD times which means optional. Camp this year could be as short as two weeks!!!

One other note--we are currently carrying 89 players, with 9 unsigned draft picks and a mandatory limit of 80 players leading into camp. That menas for every draft pick that is signed, the team has to cut someone.

Wow! Am I the only one going to the opening day of camp? I requested the day off, so if someone else is going let me know. OH, I will be a the afternoon session. I live about four hours away and I'm not getting up at 5 A.M. for the morning session.

I also have jury duty the week of 8/4 - 8/9 so that couldn't have come at a worst time for me.

I say hang'em all and we go waych practice,if they are there they are there for a reason.****'em my boys are in town.


Maybe I can be an asshole and get outta it.

Man, I think this will be the first year in a long time that I'll not probably bump into someone I know.

Cal, what do you think about Fox trimming a week off of camp at Spartanburg?

Oh, we are allowed 81 players now since we picked up some European guy from the now defunct NFLE.

One more thing, I might not be going to the "lot" this year. The last I checked with the parking attendent prices were going up to $30.00 this year and with me not getting there until 30 minutes-1 hour before kickoff, it's not worth the extra $10.00 when there is a lot a block away for $20.00. That's a beer and nachos!

Not that it matters, but I am going to be able to make the A.M. practice on the 26th. My schedule took an unexected twist and I'll be able to stay in Greenville on the 25th, therefore, getting there for the 9:00 practice is totally feisible now.

Never been to camp--always wanted to, but seems like things pop up every year that keep me from going. Hopefully, I will get there at least once in my life.

I plan to be at FanFest with the wife, barring an emergency. We are supposed to go up to Charlotte Fri, Aug 1 and visit Carowinds (never been there, either) and stay overnight for FanFest the next day.

I also want to stop by the new Z-Max Dragway in Concord and see how it's coming along. I have tix ordered for the race--can't wait.

Camp was fun to watch, though it did drizzle for the fist 20 minutes or so. I brought an umbrella so it didn't bother me.

If ya'll want any info just ask. I was pretty observant. The only thing I didn't look at in detail was the D-line. It's going to be prety cut and dry so I paid attention to just about every other facet of the team.

Oh Cal, I bumped into C.J. while I was there. That boy has grown. He's taller than me now!

Speaking of bumping into people, I LITERALLY bumped into Dwayne Jarrett. He was losing his balance after missing a pass attempt (one of many on the day ). Dwayne was stumbling towards the fence and had almost stopped and that's I had to hold him up. He probably would have plowed through that little silt fence they have for a barrier, otherwise.

I told that story to a few people and they all asked, "did he say 'thank you'," which he did not. Thinking back on it, he probably should have.
