Arsenal's Eduardo career in jeopardy...

after a horror tackle yesterday vs Birmingham City. To is credit, the guy who made the challenge wasn't apparently attempting to hurt him, it was just a freak accident, but one so bad that the channel I watched the match on refused to replay the incident due to how graphic it was. (which by the way, we were screwed out of 2 points by a last gasp penalty call, which drew ManUre to within 3 points with 11 to play...)

Here is the soccernet article on him and the injury. Probably the WORST injury I've ever seen in any sport. The only thing keeping his foot attached to his leg was the skin...

Wenger reacted out of the heat of the moment during the post game, and I figure you'd do the same for your player had you not seen the tackle on replay yet either. Those kind of injuries don't normally happen on accident, but I think this one actually was.

Well we all know that referee's are always correct in their decisions. I think he was sent off due to the sheer horror of the tackle. Look, I'd be the first to defend my player if I thought there was intent there, but I think he just missed the ball, due to Eduardo's quickness, and Eduardo's foot didn't give as it was stuck in the pitch. Wasn't a two footed challenge like the one made on Diaby last year, which was malicious and looked premeditated. I hope Dudu ends up okay and able to return.

So at the very least it was a reckless challenge? I'm not picking on you Jay, but as a ref and a referees' coach that was sending off now matter how you look at it.

No, I think it was a reckless challenge, and was worthy of a sending off obviously, but I don't think going into the tackle, his intent was to injure, thats my thought on it.
