Nik Antropov of the Toronto Maple Leafs was suspended on Thursday night/Friday morning for actions towards the zebras. An incident ocured earlier in the OT period, with Rod Brind'amour who would later score the GW goal. Antropov threw his stick at the refs after the game. Thats what led to his 3-game suspension.

Chris Simon is also suspended for an NHL record, 30 games. His suspenion this year came from an incident with Jarko Ruutu. After the whistle had been blown, Ruutu was on the ice after falling in a minor scrum for the puck. While Simon was going to the bench, he stomped on the ankle of Ruutu. Simon also holds the previous record for slashing New York Ranger Ryan Holwig in the face. Jesse Boulerice is also serving a 25-gamer for cross checking Vancouver Canucks defenceman Ryan Kessler in the face. Here is a list o other notable suspensions.

I saw this on ESPN. It didn't look as if it was deserving of a 30 game suspension

I don't know, he stomped on his ankle pretty hard. There isn't much padding in the ankle region of the skate. But, I think it was deserving.
