The Refs Hate Me
|
The recent global financial news is sure to impact current day sports, especially the sponsor based ones. Two that immediately come to mind would have to be the PGA (where tournament sponsors are dropping like flies) and NASCAR which is heavily dependant on corporate sponsors.
Owner based franchises will probably also see major changes in ownership and financial structure that will probably trickle all the way down to player salaries and seat pricing. New stadium plans with their ridiculous PSLs and seat prices have probably been put on hold (thank you!) and the runaway freight train to PPV sports just came to a grinding halt. Interesting times ahead for sports as we know it, changes should be fast and furious. Anybody interested in stadium naming rights? ![]() |
