I haven't tried logging in from the home page but that portal system really struggles with Internet Explorer. They don't play well together at all. I've also noticed that IE7 tends to get tired and confused pretty easily. I've had IE fail to login numerous times. When it does that I have to shut it down and reload it. It also takes forever to shut down when it gets tired...

Yeah you're right and it's probably because I'm using a redirect off the base domain to send that page into the forum subdirectory. I was expecting the login in the header to work but since the portal is grabbing that header info, it appears to be sending everything into a loop. I'll probably look into installing a different portal. I never was real happy with that one...

I redirected the base page strait to the forums while I installed a different portal system but this one kinda' does the same login thing. I'll look through the portal FAQs to see if I can find out why but I did happen to notice something that doesn't make any sense at all...
If you enter your login info, the page redisplays as if you're not logged in but if you go to the bottom of the page and click on the NFC South link in the green bar, it'll redisplay showing that you are. The strange part is they are both the same exact web address so go figure...  Anyway, for what it's worth I'm liking the new portal better already and there's no extra bells or whistles added. (yet...  )Edit: I just found the problem. When I added the Home link into the top navbar I neglected to add the www. to the URL address. Even though it's not necessary for general web use the BBS code looks for it. It's there now so problem solved, go login...  |
