I know this is not the kite forum -- though that would not be a terrible idea
-- but I did want to let you all know that there are two upcoming kite events in "the area" where I'll be flying. If you are bored and looking for womething to do, you would be welcome.
First, at Shelton Vineyards in Dobson NC there will be the Wind and Wine festival on April 5. This is off 77 about an hour and a hhalf or less North of Charlotte. Directions and details at

No charge, there is space to fly your own kite and will be some on sale while they last if you, for some reason I can't understand, don't already own a lot of kites...
Won't have the Mega Flag at that one, but will have some pretty big kites, and there will be a number of other kiters there showing off their stuff.
The other event in in Tuskegee, AL, Sat April 12 -- the Heritage Kite Festival, honoring the Tuskegee Airmen. The Mega Flag will be there, the OLO octopus (known as the second biggest kite in America!
), the iQuad sport kite precision demo team will be flying -- should be a fun event.
