Unless Javy plays well in Spring, I think Brayan Pena WILL be the backup. Javy is a shell of his former self. He was out of baseball all last year and was cut in spring training last year by the Rockies. That is why he was only given a minor leaugue contract. Tryout only, it appears. I loved Javy, so I hope he is able to do something special this spring, if not, look for him to be cut.
As for Sammons, he could get a shot. He is a little better hitter, but has zero power...zilch.
That is just the official depth chart they release though, so I am sure it will be changing alot over the next few weeks.
