Yeah, I follow news in the crypto world. I don't really believe in all the legends, but I like to read up on all the latest happenings. This story has been going on since mid July. At first it didn't seem like much, but like a snowball it kept getting bigger and bigger until the real news agencies picked up on it.
My opinion...these guys are full of it. Everyone wants their 15 minutes even if they end up looking stupid in the process. The only problem is it gives a bad name to the real experts who spend their time trying to prove or disprove all the myths around the legends.

The Bigfoot guy has his reputation at stake. All the guys have their reputation at stake. |

Tom Biscardi's reputation isn't all that good to begin with. He's like the Don King of his field. He would claim a dog turd as proof of life on Mars if it got his name in the news. Just having him involved in the story pretty much tells you it's fake.

What's the benefit of faking this? Are they simply trying to get more traffic through their website? That seems like a lot of stuff to do to simply get some website traffic.
And why would 15 minutes of fame be worth it if you'll forever be known as a fool? |

Money. Hoping to make as much as they can before the bottom falls out on them. Bushnell is having a contest where if you find bigfoot you win 1 million dollars. Also, the best bigfoot forgery will win another prize...so maybe that's their angle.
